a quick look at MAC Syrup lipstick ♥

After spying this beauty of a lipstick over on Zoe's blog Zoloriri in her May Favourites I just had to get my paws on it. It's a beautiful soft pink-berry colour that works as a gorgeous your lips but better kind of shade. The finish is Lustre which gives a sheeny look to the lips making them look smooth and ultra-moisturised.

Syrup is now a firm favourite. What's your favourite MAC lipstick? x

summer date night OOTN ♥

I was on the hunt for the perfect 'date night' summery dress that would flatter and be feminine. Personally, I cannot buy enough dresses with 3/4 length sleeves. They are undoubtedly the most flattering and most effective way of hiding possibly my worst feature... my dreaded upper arms.

I stumbled across this beauty in Topshop last week and it has become my new favourite. The classic floral concept but with a modern edge to it just makes for the perfect summery dress to wear for cocktails or dinner. I didn't end up wearing the shoes in the picture, instead I went for some sparkly black strappy shoes which are marginally easier to walk in.

Max Factor False Lash Effect Review ♥

I've been searching for the perfect mascara for what feels like my whole life. I certainly don't think I've found the holy grail, but I have been using one lately that is keeping me coming back for more.

The Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara is pretty darn effective at giving me those false-looking eyelashes. With only 2 or 3 coats I'm good to go and it lasts all day, without the dreaded transfer and without fading away to look like one measly coat of cheap mascara. I don't love the fat, rubber wand but it actually does a pretty good job of coating my lashes, and although the bristles aren't as eye-stabbingly long as those on the They're Real wand they do a commendable job of keeping my eyelashes separated.

The photos above show the mascara on uncurled lashes, which might seem outrageous to those of you who are Shu Uemera worshippers, but I genuinely find my lashes look worse if I curl them.

It retails at £10.99 which is on the pricier side for a drugstore mascara, however I think it's worth it as it's certainly one of the best drugstore ones I've ever tried!

Contouring Made Easy ♥

Contouring is one of the most important parts of my make up routine, ever since spying a tutorial from the wonderful Lisa Eldridge featuring a Cheryl Cole makeup look back in 2011. Because it's such a vital part of my daily routine, I thought I'd share with you how I do it, and a few of my favourite products.

Hope you enjoy the video! Love x
